You can put as much faith in this rumor as all the usual Apple rumors, but Mac Rumors says there's been talk of a re-vamped iMac line coming at the Apple event on September 12. The new gear this time: an 23-inch iMac with Core 2 Duo. Supposedly, the 17 and 20-inch iMacs are also getting Core 2 Duos, so if you're thinking of buying one now for Back To School, hold up for a few weeks. (1375 clicks)

Symbol MC3000 Mobile PC With Swivelling Scanner Module

Korean-based manufacturer, Symbol Technologies, presented an interesting mobile computer with a swivelling scanner module on the top. This way, users can easily scan document, picture, magazine, etc. The MC3000 Portable PC, which looks more like a barcode reader for me, also incorporated Symbol's proprietary MSP (Mobility Services Platform) technology that integrates the mobile computer system into a company's wireless network infra and can be monitored in a remote distance through the network as well.  (1085 clicks)

Asus Officially Launched R2H UMPC

On its recent press release, Asus officialy announced its first UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) on the portfolio, the R2H. And the company was not just bringing the good news, but also a late April's fools joke as it mentioned, on the official specs of the R2H, that this device will have a whopping weighs of 580kg! Well, I'm sure we all aware that it's just a typo, so hopefully Asus would fix it as soon as possible. The R2H UMPC itself, powered by Intel Celeron M ULV (900MHz) processor, comes with an integrated GPS module and runs on Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system.
